Week of Prayer Blog

This Blog is for each of us to chart what God has spoken to our hearts and our time together concerning missions. Please Share your thoughts and inspiration on each topic so that we may all collectively be inspirited towards God direction for the church in this area.

What a nice morning, in the office by myself listening to the rain and talking to God about missions. If nothing else this is the best start to a day I have had in a while. Today as I prayed and thought about our mission I had both a feeling of peace that while we might not have all the details yet we are in the right place and doing the right things concerning missions and a sense of excitement because in my heart I feel that God is getting ready to do some great things through our ministries.

I am so proud to be part of a church family whose leadership wants to honor God in so many more ways that just in a church building on Sunday mornings! What exciting times are these! And how appropriate was today's prayer and scripture--not only for seeking God FIRST in how to do missions at Canopy Roads BC but also in day-to-day living. I needed the reminder...

Chances are if you don’t know where you are going, you won’t know when you get there! This is why we use maps to navigate us to where we want to go. The same applies in the spiritual realm when it comes to a road map for our life. Vision is what keeps us on course to our destination.

God has a vision that He wants to imprint upon our hearts that is specifically designed just for us. It is our responsibility to spend time with Him and to get His Word on the inside of us. Our heart is the canvas, the Holy Ghost is the Artist, and the Word of God is the oil. The more time we spend with Him, the more He can paint an image on the canvas of our heart.

Once we know where we are going we then need to make the vision clear by writing it down. …Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it (Habakkuk 2:2, KJV)

By keeping the vision before us, we will always know where we are going and we won’t waste any time wandering around lost. Proverbs 29:18 says: Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he who keepeth the law, happy is he (KJV). Vision is what motivates us and keeps us on the right track in life.

Thank you for a wonderful reminder to pray for Gabriella, our Home Team's Compassion child this morning as part of my "International Missions" prayer time. Missions can be such a blessing in the smallest form and I pray that CRBC is gearing up for what can be a wonderful experience of knowing God and sharing his love with others. As you spend time in prayer today, please remember Gabby, and especially her request that her father come to know Christ. Looking forward to what God has in store for CRBC and it's mission edeavers!!!

I feel so blessed to be a member of Canopy Roads. I love what the church is doing and how we are challenging it to grow. I have seen God work in my life so much over the past year and how he continues to weave these relationships with so many of you. I want to thank Canopy Roads for accepting Alan and I as new members and for supporting our mission to Africa. I do not think our membership with CRBC was coincidence and we are excited to be a part of something bigger with this church. My prayer is that God guide the church in how they can make an impact locally and globally, that he may provide a focus for the CRBC's mission ministry, and I pray that those who have the opportunity to do community and missions work will share with the church how they have seen God work during these times so that others may feel convicted do something BIG with this missions ministry at CRBC!

I was a little frustrated initially because I haven't felt like I am sensing God's definite leading as I have prayed for our ministry in Nicaragua and for funding for Kenia's college scholarship. But I think that what He has been trying to teach me this week is having the patience to wait for his timing. He doesn't work within our timeline, and sometimes, we have "deadlines" that we want answers by, but God may want us to continue to wait trusting in faith that he will answer those prayers when he wills. I also feel very encouraged that He does indeed have a plan for us in Nicaragua! It is something great! I can't wait to see what people He will bring forward to participate (financially or as team members) as he continues to unfold his GOD-SIZED plan to us!

For HIS glory,
Ally
