What is Pier 252 all about?
Luke 2:52 (NIV) And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
The purpose of Pier 252 is to support the spiritual growth of the family by providing R.E.A.L. experiences with God’s word in a C.L.E.A.R. format on Sunday mornings for children K-5th.
We believe that God has identified the family as the place where spiritual training should occur. As a church we can partner together to support one another. So Pier 252 will focus on challenging children to grow in wisdom (biblical worldview) and love (selflessness) through relationships with God and others. Through the partnership of parents and the church we can see children develop as fully devoted followers of Christ!
We incorporate these components into our time in a Large Group and Small Group setting:

How Does It Work?
Approach- We have chosen a new curriculum to help us present learning experiences on a developmentally appropriate level for all age groups. We are zooming in on the Bible, looking at smaller passages in a more in depth way. We are taking time to memorize scripture. We are challenging the students to talk about and put into action what they have learned.
Connection- Children are going to gather with their small groups to experience the large group session for a more personal experience.
Communication- We are striving to deepen relationships with the families of the children we serve! We are contributing to the existence of a biblical foundation for each child. We are providing purpose through the message of the gospel. And we are challenging children to respond to Christ by surrendering their hearts and living as fully devoted followers of Christ.

Standard 5 - Every child is safe and loved at all times.
Standard 6 - Children serve God as soon as they are ready.
Standard 7 - Chidlren’s workers communicate the gospel with clarity and urgency.
Standard 8 - Children have regular opportunities to trust Christ.
