How I became a Christian: I grew up in a Christian home and learned about God and spiritual things at a very early age. As I grew up I discovered that faith is a personal matter and not something that can be inherited from your parents. I also learned that every person is separated from God due to their sin. I heard the gospel message of salvation through faith in Christ nearly
every week as I attended church. One day during a revival service at the church where I grew up I decided to place my trust in Christ. I was ten years old at the time. I was baptized and became a member of Midway Baptist Church in Midway, Alabama.
Most Embarrassing Moment: In one of my first weddings I went through the entire service without a hitch until it came time for me to introduce the couple. I forgot their names! After a prolonged period of silence I finally managed to remember.
Something you probably didn’t know about Pastor Matt: I have a master’s degree in Beef Cattle Nutrition. My research project for my thesis involved developing an antacid for cattle. It worked, and they appreciated it.
