Home Teams

What’s a “Home Team?”

Home Teams are where you can get plugged into the lives of other people just like you — a small group of adults, who meet at homes in your area, who have a desire to see you improve and succeed in life. In a Home Team we are working together to become people of impact. You will learn about practical Christian living through discussing the truths of the Bible and building friendships with one another.

Who Can be Part of a Home Team?

Anybody and everybody. You’ll find people from all walks of life. Home  Teams are not made up of “know it alls” or “perfect people.”  You’ll find people just like you, with hurts, struggles, and joys, wanting to make friends as they do life together.  Just call a Home Team host, listed in this brochure, and ask any questions you may have about their Home Team.

What Happens In A Meeting?

Friendships are formed.  Relevant life topics are explored in light of Scripture.  Lots of food is consumed.

Why Home Teams?

As Canopy Roads continues to reach Tallahassee, we must grow larger and smaller at the same time.  Connecting people in a small group is not an optional sub-ministry of the church. It is the church in its smallest form. We are called to live the Christian life with the support of others.  We are better together as we do life together.

Are Home Teams Biblical?

In the book of Acts, Luke records the tremendous growth of the first church in Jerusalem.  Small groups meeting in homes were the foundation of the early church.  Acts 5:42 tells us that the people met “in the temple courts” (large group worship) and “from house to house” (small group fellowships).  Jesus did much of his ministry in homes and early Christians continued to meet in homes for fellowship, study, and discipleship.
