Because you are here we will assume that you are new to online giving and to Canopy Roads in particular. The rules are very simple we will establish an online identity then we will get your personal information (tax purposes). We will also have you enter your banking information (the same stuff that is printed on your paper check, nothing more.)
Before you start
To give online is like going to the store, you must have a few things ready when you check out. Giving to your church is tax deductable in most cases so you will want to be identifiable by us so that we can give you supporting documents if you need them for your taxes.
You must have:
-
Personal information (Name, address, etc.)
-
Your check (it has all the information necessary.)
Finding the required check numbers
Your paper check has two groups of numbers that we will need to process your gift. These are the account number and the banks indentifier number (also called a "routing number".) Your account number identifies your specific account in your bank. Your bank also has a number to identify it as the holder of your account.
Where are the numbers?
WARNING: Do not use your browser Back or Forward buttons to navigate. Use only the buttons provided in the screens to navigate.
Step 1: Getting your identifier.
Our processor BizBanc uses Microsoft Windows Live ID service to authenticate your username and password. You may already have a Windows Live ID. If you use Hotmail, or Messenger, or use Live.com. There are more than 380 million users of Windows Live ID. If you have one already you can use it. If not then follow the instructions below to create your Live ID.
Open a new browser window and go to
http://www.live.com/ then
click "Sign in" in the TOP RIGHT corner of the browser window below the toolbar. You should see a screen that looks like the one shown below.
Click the Sign up button. (Note: If you think that you have a Live ID you can enter in the the textbox and test it. If it works then you are done with this step.)
Next in the first section "Create a Windows Live ID", choose Create a Windows Live e-mail address. You don't have to use it but having it allows you to use your new Windows Live ID with other products that utilize Windows Live ID such as your medical records.
When you finish creating your Live ID you will be given the option by Windows Live to edit your user Profile. That is not required by our service. Be sure to record and save your Live ID and your password. We cannot fix it you forget it!
Step 2: Giving Online, Login.
Our site will have a point (button or link) where you may click to enter the secure giving site. When you click on the link to the secure giving site you will be presented with the "Login" screen. This is where you will use your Windows Live ID obtained in Step 1 above. Your screen should look someting like the following:
